It was a night to forget for Peter DeBoer’s crew on Tuesday night as they made NHL history for the wrong reason. The Stars lost 6-5 in overtime against the Vancouver Canucks, which saw Dallas blow a three-goal lead with one minute remaining in the final frame.

Connor Hellebuyck had a quiet outing in the blue paint against the Blues on Monday night, stopping 14 of 15 shots he faced. The two-time Vezina Trophy winner looks on course to claim his third as he has garnered 44 wins, posting a .924 save percentage and a 2.03 GAA, all ranked first in the league. 

Scoring the winning goal in the middle of the third period on Monday, Alex Iafallo sniped home his 14th goal of the season. With four games left in the Jets season, the 31-year-old is three goals shy from surpassing his career high of 17 set back in 2019-20 and 2021-22. 

Despite the Stars faltering against the Canucks on Tuesday, Mikael Granlund put in an impressive performance. The Finnish international halted his two-game pointless run, answering back with a pair of assists and finishing the evening with three points.

Through 79 games played this season, Granlund has obtained 66 points. 

The Stars leading point-getter kept this point streak intact, logging a goal and an assist versus Vancouver, extending his points run to seven. Matt Duchene has turned back the clock as the 34-year-old has amassed 81 points in 79 outings this year.

Entering Thursday’s encounter, the opponents are clashing in opposite moods as the Jets are riding high defeating the NHL’s hottest team while the Stars caved in on Tuesday.

The Stars will be in a sour mood and want to snap their three-game losing run and play a tighter checking game not conceding as many high-danger chances. 

This Central Division tilt has solid trends to back our wager. The total has gone under the number in five of Winnipeg’s last six trips to American Airlines Center.

The Jets themselves are streaking in participating in low-scoring affairs as their last seven games have all gone under the total. Dallas in their previous five divisional matchups, on four occurrences the game went under.

Both adversaries during this current term have seen 63 percent of their games finish under the 6.5-goal mark.
