Paddy Pimblett will be spending his $50,000 performance bonus on his twin girls’ first birthday after beating Michael Chandler on Saturday night.

The Liverpudlian put on a career-best showing in the co-main event of UFC 314 in Miami, Florida, to stop Chandler with some brutal ground and pound in round three.

His victory means he will enter the lightweight top 10 when the rankings are updated on Monday morning.

Before the fight, Pimblett was placed No.12 overall while Chandler was 5 spots ahead of him at No.7.

Another statement victory could launch the Scouser into a title shot against reigning champion Islam Makhachev.

But that isn’t the only perk he has received for beating Chandler.

Pimblett was also given a $50,000 performance bonus alongside Jean Silva, who submitted Bryce Mitchell in the second round earlier in the night, while Diego Lopes and Alexander Volkanovski got $50,000 each for their Fight of the Night in the feature attraction.

Reacting to his monetary gain, Pimblett said: “Have I got a performance bonus?

“I f****** better get a performance bonus.

“Well, it’s the babies’ birthday on Thursday, lad.

“So, it’s another nice little bit of money to spend on the babies’ for their first birthday.”

Pimblett and his wife, Laura, welcomed twin baby girls, Betsy and Margot, to the world last year.

“I had to get a performance bonus, didn’t I?” he continued.

“Couldn’t not give me a performance bonus there. F**** hell.

“I just elbowed Chandler’s head into f****.”

Pimblett is aiming to return to the UFC Octagon at the back end of this year in Abu Dhabi.

Charles Oliviera was at the top of his hit list, but a fight with McGregor could also be a possibility.

The Irishman bet $500,000 that Chandler would knock out Pimblett pre-fight and insisted he was ‘interested’ in the co-main event.

Responding to the wager in the immediate aftermath of his victory, Pimblett said: “Cheeky b***** cheeky little b******.

“The Scouse are meant to back each other. I didn’t expect that from Conor lad. If you want to come back, Con, I’m here, son.

“I’m waiting. I’ll mufti you just like I have muftied Chandler.”

It’s a fight Pimblett would love to have, but he has his reservations.

“I don’t think he is coming back,” he added of McGregor. “He’s got enough money, he doesn’t need to come back.

“But if he does that, then the Baddy is waiting for him.”

McGregor still has two fights remaining on his UFC deal, but hasn’t fought since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
