Ben Whittaker appears to be in fantastic shape ahead of his rematch with Liam Cameron this weekend.

The fierce rivals are set to square off on Easter Sunday at the BP Pulse Live Arena in Birmingham after their inaugural encounter ended in controversial circumstances.

Towards the back end of the fifth round, both boxers flipped over the top rope, resulting in Whittaker sustaining injuries that left him unable to continue.

Cameron was on the ascendancy when the fight was waved off and insisted that Whittaker had looked for a way out due to fatigue.

“He was exhausted,” Cameron told talkSPORT.

“I hit him with a body shot before that happened. And I could feel it really take everything out of him.

“And his shots were so forced, he had to put everything into his shots that last round.

“He was exhausted, I was quite surprised how easy it was.”

Whittaker has left no stone unturned in preparation for their second fight and has been whipped up into career-best shape under new trainer Andy Lee.

‘The Surgeon’ posted a shirtless picture next to his trainer after a gruelling session, and fans were left stunned by the shape he was in.

One supporter wrote: “I need your strength & condition coach & diet, the work rate this camp ain’t no joke.”

Another commented: “Looking in great shape.”

A third posted: “Ridiculous shape… get the job done broski.”

A fourth added: “Man’s about -2% body fat.”

Meanwhile, someone else remarked: “Looking in serious shape and looks locked in.”

Whittaker switched trainers to Lee ahead of his second fight with Cameron.

He turned over as a professional under the watchful eye of SugarHill Steward, before switching back to his former amateur coach and godfather Joby Clayton last year.

But after a poor performance against Cameron, Whittaker decided he needed a change and so packed his bags and travelled to Dublin to start his camp with Lee at the Ballybrack Boxing Club last month.
