Rory McIlroy wasn’t the only one who left Augusta National with money in his pocket.
Meet Whitney Boykin.

She is a homeowner in North Augusta who rents out her family’s home every year during the Masters.
The matriarch of the Boykin family has seen huge dividends pay off since she started doing this seven years ago.
And this year’s return on investment was enough to pay off an entire year’s mortgage on the house.
Boykin and her family earned an undisclosed sum by renting out their property to visitors who came to town for the tournament.
This year’s renters were reportedly a Texas-based company that brought a large group of staff to the event.
Boykin told Business Insider about the process of listing her house for rent during the weeks leading up to and through golf’s most prestigious event.
The family spends around $5,000 a year to make their five-bedroom, five-bathroom home up to snuff for the long stay.
The large property is less than a 15-minute drive to Augusta National, making it the perfect stay for the patrons who flocked to Augusta in early April for the historic tournament.
“I’m one of the rare locals who says I love Masters week. I just want visitors to see how amazing it is here,” Boykin said.
“Once the Christmas lights get put away, it’s time to get ready.

“My kids know which sheets are Masters ones. We don’t touch them.”
While renters inhabit the home, Boykin explained that she will periodically check in and make sure the guests are well taken care of and everything is right, but said that most of the time the guests are never there because they are at the tournament all day.
“They’re not spending a lot of time in our home,” Boykin said.
To be able to rent your home and not have to worry too much about any funny business or shenanigans makes the ROI more than worth it.
Especially considering it’s enough to pay off the mortgage for the year.
The Boykin family wasn’t the only one to list their home during this time of year.
According to Business Insider, many properties around the area similar to the Boykins’ house were available to rent for “around $9,000 to $28,000 a week during the tournament.“
It’s easy to see why the Boykins open up their home every year in early April.
