Romantic Style
Royal Zabeel has been placed in the top two in each of his last five runs since being gelded.
He ran off a mark of 82 back in November 2024 and within those five runs is now up to a mark of 111, albeit the majority of that rise (12lb) came from his win at Wolverhampton last time out.
That rise that puts him into contention here still looks tough up against some seasoned Group runners.
Romantic Style is right up there though and even gets some weight allowance as the filly of the field to give her a greater chance with four wins in eight suggesting she can continue her progression now.
Three of her four wins have come over this distance too and this is clearly where she thrives the most.
Opera Ballo
It’s very interesting to see this exciting colt not only favourite but also ridden by James Doyle instead of William Buick.
His debut was ridden by Billy Loughnane and now on his third start gets another jockey appointment.
But it’s crucial at times to not read too much into these details and go on the form.
He has run twice in his career both coming on the all-weather and both times demolishing his opposition.
I tipped him at Kempton last time out in February and he drifted to 11/10 before winning comfortably by four lengths.
There could well be more from him and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him impress again, even coming up against some very tough opponents.
Dashel Drasher
Hard not to back this plucky 12-year-old who’s still running with great credit over fences.
Back to hurdles for the first time since April 2024 and is running 10lb lower.
His recent runs over fences suggest he shouldn’t be discounted back over hurdles and if at least just to cheer on this popular stayer who still has bags of ability.
