A number of football entities have heavily relied upon their known home turfs, supportive crowd and sheer belief of playing before their beloved fans for the much needed inspiration.
Kitara Football Club will on Thursday, 19th September 2024 officially debut at their newly established home venue at Royals Park Butema in Hoima.
This playground seats on seven (7) acres located at the Kyamugenzi Local Council 1, Butema parish – Buhanika sub county, 16 Km from the city center and just 1Km from the Hoima – Kampala city Highway.
This will be on match day two of the 2024-2025 Star Times Uganda Premier League as the Royals entertain Hussein Mbalangu’s coached NEC football club.
The two sides face off once again after their latest meeting in the Stanbic Uganda Cup finale at Mutesa II Wankulukuku stadium where Kitara won 1-0.
Royal Park Butema has a new surface of grass with a newly established watering system fixed underneath the ground.

The dressing rooms are already in place with other modifications as the VIP section still on-going.
“We are happy to be playing at our new home ground against NEC. We urge the fans to turn up in big numbers and rally the team. Entry fees have been fixed at Ug.Shs 10,000/= and Ug. Shs30,000/= (VIP) for ordinary and VIP tickets respectively.

Both sides energized from match day one:
Both Kitara and NEC won on match day one and come to this contest seeking for their second victory.
Kitara, under head coach Brian Ssenyondo overcame league debutants Lugazi Football Club 3-0 at the Lugazi stadium in Najjembe with a well taken brace from Jude Ssemugabi and Frank Tumwesigye.
On the other hand, NEC humbled visiting Vipers 3-1 at the MTN Stadium, Lugogo.
New signings Muzamiru Mutyaba and Paul Mucureezi as well as Cromwell Rwothomio scored for NEC.

Livingstone Mulondo got Vipers’ consolation, a decent header past goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo.
Therefore; match day two for Kitara and NEC is envisaged as a big opportunity to extend their lead at the summit of the table standings.
For the entire last season, Kitara Football Club hosted the home matches at Masindi stadium.
At the Royals Park Butema, it is a ground which they intend to approach every match like a cup finale with the full backing of their home fans who are expected to cheer every tackle, pass, shot and block.
To borrow a leaf from Bolivia football federation who recently transferred their FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifier against Venezuela to El Alto city (sitting on an altitude of 4150 meters above sealevel), Kitara will wish to optimally utilize on the new home advantage benefits.
Bolivia won in convincing fashion 4-0 for their second win of the campaign.
