Shannon Sharpe is reportedly in for a mega pay rise.

The NFL legend turned popular media personality is expected to sign a podcast deal worth more than $100 million, and there’s only one person seemingly more excited than he is.

Chad ‘Ochocino’ Johnson has already expressed his delight at his Nightcap co-host’s potential new deal.

“Oh WE finna be richER,” Ochocinco wrote on X above a post reporting Sharpe’s rumoured contract.

“Can’t wait for @NightcapShow_ tonight, let me send Unc this $5200 and pay off my debt before these 100 m’s hit…,” he later added.

Ocho would likely benefit from any new Sharpe deal as Nightcap is part of the Shay Shay Media network that multiple organizations reportedly want to sign.

Rumours of a new contract come as Sharpe’s media with Colin Cowherd’s The Volume is up.

Multiple reports have state that Sharpe has already received multiple offers that would exceed the $100 million mark.

Along with Nightcap, Sharpe’s other podcasts include Club Shay Shay, Jeff Teague’s Club 520 Podcast, The Bubba Dub Show and the official team podcast of the Atlanta Hawks.

Three-time Super Bowl winner Sharpe is somewhat of a media juggernaut. His interview with comedian Katt Williams has 89 million views and counting on YouTube since premiering on Jan. 3, 2024.

Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay has amassed nearly 4 million subscribers.

The prospect of a mouth-watering $100 million media deal has seen Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons react.

The linebacker has previously been told by fans and pundits alike to drop his own podcast, The Edge with Micah Parsons, and focus on his NFL career instead.

With Sharpe in line to sign a mega deal, Parsons took the opportunity to fire back at anyone who suggests he should stop doing pursuing the potentially lucrative endeavor.

‘Stop the podcast Micah’ yea Ite [alright],” Parsons wrote on X.

Major organizations licensing podcasts from sports stars has become a big trend in recent years.

Before joining The Volume, Sharpe’s podcast was on Fox Sports, where he had also spent seven years partnering with Skip Bayless before he left after reaching a buyout agreement.

The Pat McAfee Show, meanwhile, has a reported five-year, $85 million licensing deal with ESPN, and it has just over 2.8 million subscribers on YouTube.
