Becky Lynch has made her long-awaited return to WWE.

The Irish star, who has been off TV for almost 12 months, made her comeback on night two of WrestleMania 41.

Lynch was Lyra Valkyria’s surprise partner in the Women’s Tag Team Championship match against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

After Valkyria made her way to the ring, the Las Vegas crowd waited in anticipation to see who would come down the ramp and challenge for the titles alongside her.

Lynch’s iconic ‘Celtic Invasion’ music then hit, sending those inside Allegiant Stadium wild as she stepped out from behind the curtain.

The Irish compatriots then made light work of Morgan and Rodriguez, picking up a big victory on the Grandest Stage of All to become Women’s Tag Team champions.

While Lynch’s return is undoubtedly a massive moment for professional wrestling — given she has been on hiatus for nearly a year — some fans have shared their frustration over how it unfolded.

On the WrestleMania Countdown show for night one on Saturday, WWE ran an angle with Bayley, Valkyria’s initial partner, being attacked backstage.

As her opponents Morgan and Rodriguez denied being behind the incident, general manager Adam Pearce declared that the injury ruled Bayley out of the match, and he gave Valkyria 24 hours to find herself a new tag team partner.

Reports have claimed that Bayley’s removal was not due to a legitimate injury, and that the attack had been a planned storyline for weeks.

Lynch, of course, stepped up to fill in, and while she received a warm reception from the Vegas crowd on her return, some took to social media to suggest Bayley should not have lost her spot on the card.

“Couldn’t let Bayley get her moment,” one person tweeted.

“I like Becky, but it’s so unfair to Bayley,” another said.

“I feel for Bayley so bad man, but I’m happy to see Becky back,” a third wrote.

“Stole Bayley’s spot,” a fourth said.

Seconds ahead of bursting through the curtain to make her return, Lynch wrote on social media: ‘The man has come around once again.’

And while some fans shared their frustration with how Lynch’s return unfolded, she was welcomed back by many others.

On Saturday night, the Irish star fuelled comeback rumors as she posted her backstage reaction to husband Seth Rollins’ main event match against Roman Reigns and CM Punk on night one.

Rollins became the newest ‘Paul Heyman Guy’ with victory, as the legendary WWE manager turned on both long-time friend CM Punk and his ‘Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns with a pair of low blows.

The trio shared the ring for more than 30 minutes in a brutal match, before Heyman set an unforgettable chain of events in motion.

He first handed a chair to Punk, before hitting him with a low blow, allowing Reigns to tee off on his rival.

After Punk was taken out of the equation, Heyman caught Reigns with a second low blow and passed the chair to Rollins.

‘The Visionary’ didn’t need a second invitation, and smashed the chair across Reigns’ back before pinning him in the middle of the ring.

Night one of WrestleMania 41 went off the air with Rollins and Heyman standing tall on the ramp, having changed the landscape of WWE in a massive main event.
