Kate Abdo covered her face in shock and apologised after hilariously forgetting her new surname live on air.

The CBS Sports Champions League presenter recently married her partner, boxing trainer Malik Scott, and subsequently adopted his last name.

However, when the cameras started rolling for Thursday’s show, she introduced herself with her old name by accident.

So used to her usual opening line for the show, the 43-year-old said: “Good evening and a very warm welcome to our Champions League post-match show, it is so good to have you with us.”

Then, as she started to introduce the panel, she said: “Kate Abd-“

The presenter stopped herself as soon as she realised her error, but her pundits had already clocked on, with Jamie Carragher, Thierry Henry and Micah Richards all bursting out laughing.

Scott, formerly Abdo – in case it hasn’t sunk in for you yet, either – immediately covered her face and could only grin as she realised what she’d done.

“I’m sorry,” she said, sending an apology to her husband.

“Sorry Malik!”

Henry hid behind his script to cover his face, while Carragher and Richards kept cracking up.

“That was worse than your Fox one!” Carragher said, referencing when Scott called CBS Sports, Fox by accident.

Laughing, she continued with her introduction.

“Kate SCOTT, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards,” she smiled.

“Good to see you everybody!”

The happy couple tied the knot in a private ceremony.

Scott, who works with boxer Deontay Wilder, recently spoke out on his feelings towards the CBS panel, after Carragher made a clumsy joke in response to his wife, a Man United fan, saying that she was too loyal to wear an Arsenal shirt.
