The final tournament of the 2024 LIV Golf season takes place in Dallas, Texas, this week as Maridoe Golf Club hosts the LIV Team Championship.
A unique event which crowns the winner of the season-long team competition, the LIV Team Championship was held at Trump National Doral in the first two LIV Golf seasons but it has moved to Maridoe, one of the most exclusive clubs in the United States, for 2024.
Jon Rahm took the $18 million individual LIV title in Chicago last week and his Legion XIII team are the 11/4 favourites to claim the $14 million team prize.
The format is a mix of matchplay and strokeplay and the top three teams on the season-long standings – Crushers, Legion XIII and Ripper – will receive a bye into Saturday’s semi-finals. The remaining 10 teams will face off in five matches on Friday.
Brooks Koepka, the captain of fourth-ranked Smash, will pick his team’s opening opponent. The fifth-ranked team will pick next and so on until Friday’s draw is complete.
Matches consist of two singles and one foursomes (alternate shot) contest with the team who wins at least two matches progressing to Saturday’s semi-finals, where the process repeats with the top three seeds.
The four teams who win on Saturday will then progress to Sunday’s strokeplay competition. All four team members will play 18 holes and their scores will count to one overall total. The team with the lowest combined score takes the title.

LIV Golf Team Championship Golf Tips
Crushers to win @ 3/1
The three seeded teams have a built-in advantage and, of the three of them, it’s Crushers who could prove the best option.
Captain Bryson DeChambeau, the US Open champion and a consistent contender on the LIV circuit this season, will get the first pick of semi-final opponents and that could prove to be a big bonus if there are any significant shocks in Friday’s opening round of matches.
DeChambeau is joined in the Crushers line-up by two accurate operators in Paul Casey and Anirban Lahiri, who both finished in the top 16 of the individual standings and look good fits for Maridoe, where water is in play on almost every hole.
Charles Howell III is working his way back from injury and is the weak link on paper, but he should be steady enough to help Crushers over the line if they make the final four.
Fireballs to win @ 10/1
For a big-priced alternative, consider Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs, who will get the third pick of the Friday matches and should progress to the semi-final stage.
Garcia, a matchplay force for Europe in the Ryder Cup, has had a fine LIV season, winning in Andalucia and finishing third in the individual standings.
The Spaniard is based in Texas, as is teammate Abraham Ancer, and both have the tee-to-green precision to excel at Maridoe.
Garcia’s fellow Spaniards David Puig and Eugenio Chacarra, who are likely to partner up in foursomes, are both capable operators who have competitive course experience from their amateur days.
