Drew Pearson is a Dallas Cowboys legend having gone from undrafted free agent to the Hall of Fame.

The wideout represented America’s Team from 1973 to 1983 and appeared in three Super Bowls, winning his only ring in 1977.

By the time he took the stage at the 2017 NFL Draft in Philadelphia, his playing days were well behind him.

But Pearson still had enough juice to rile up an entire city as he taunted the NFC East rival Eagles in their own back yard.

A chorus of boos almost drowned out commissioner Roger Goodell as he tried to introduce the Tulsa alum, who was in town to announce the Cowboys’ second-round pick.

“How ’bout them Cowboys?” Pearson asked the baying mob to set the tone.

Despite the raucous scenes, he was in no hurry to get off the stage, seeming to enjoy every minute.

“And on behalf of the five-time world champion Dallas Cowboys, Hall of Fame owner Jerry Jones, Gene Jones and the Jones family, Jason Garrett, all the Cowboys players that played before me, that played with me, and that played after me,” Pearson began.

He was so caught up in his epic trolling that he accidentally said he was calling the second pick before continuing: “With the 60th pick in the second round, the Cowboys select the defensive back from Colorado, Chidobe Awuzie.”

Pearson flashed his Super Bowl XII ring to the crowd as he strolled off the stage with a beaming smile and cameras cut to the delighted Cowboys war room.

He did show his humble side a year later, however, as Philly won its first ever Super Bowl in 2018.

Hate to admit it but Philly earned that Super Bowl 52 victory,” he wrote on X. “Congrats to them and hopefully for the @dallascowboys lessons learned…NFC East is no joke. Got to coach em up…Hut Hut!!!

Fittingly, Pearson was chosen as host when the 2018 Draft was held at AT&T Stadium.

When former Eagle David Akers took the stage in Arlington, the former Cowboy decided to have some fun and said he couldn’t believe Philadelphia sent a kicker up to make the pick.

“To be honest, the idea of coming into Dallas being able to tell them who the champs are, that is awesome,” replied the six-time Pro Bowler and two-time scoring leader.

Pearson got another shot at the limelight in 2023 and once again riled up the Eagles with a glowing tribute to the Cowboys in Kansas City before announcing tight end Luke Schoonmaker as the 58th overall pick.

The Eagles, of course, went on to win another Super Bowl in Feburary.

While still three crowns behind the five-time world champion Cowboys, if the Jones family cannot turn things around that gap could narrow more over the next few years.

Awuzie was a strong starter for the Cowboys but left for the Cincinnati Bengals as a free agent in 2021.

He signed a three-year, $36.00million contract with the Tennessee Titans in 2024 but was released earlier this year and picked up by the Baltimore Ravens.

Schoonmaker was a bit of a reach in the second round after a run of tight ends and his early years in the league have been hit by injury.

Akers’ second-round tight end, Dallas Goedert, has fared much better and been a key piece in Philly, although he has been the subject of trade over the offseason.

Former center Travis Frederick is up for the Cowboys in Green Bay this year, while ex-tackle Beau Allen will announce an Eagles pick.

After selecting Alabama guard Tyler Booker in the first round, Dallas currently has the 44th pick on Friday.

Eagles fans will have to wait until the final selection of the second round unless there is another trade.

Versatile linebacker Jihaad Campbell — who will know Booker well from their time with the Crimson Tide — was their first pick.
