Cooper Flagg, I hope you like BBQ.

The fortunes of Dallas have finally swung back in their favor.

The Mavericks have won the NBA lottery and will have the first pick in the 2025 draft.

It’s all but guaranteed that Cooper Flagg will be hearing his name called first, and now we know where he will be headed.

Dallas, get ready.

The Mavericks had a mere 1.8% to win the lottery.

The Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards, and Charlotte Hornets had the best chance at winning the lottery, each with 14%.

Followed by the New Orleans Pelicans at a 12.5% chance and the Philadelphia 76ers at 10%.

If Flagg is indeed the first pick in the draft, he will become the first White-American taken with the first overall pick since the Milwaukee Bucks drafted Kent Benson in 1977.

Many fans are calling the lottery rigged.

“the nba is never beating the rigged allegations,” one fan posted on X.

“We all know the lottery is rigged but this is on a different level. Did the NBA promise them the 1st pick to get Luka to LA,” another fan commented.

“nba rigged,” one fan put it plainly.

“This isn’t even subtle rigging tbh,” more kept coming in.

Rigged or not, general manager Nico Harrison can breathe a small sigh of relief knowing that he will be able to draft Flagg.

No one will forgive him for sending Luka Doncic packing, but this now makes that catastrophic trade sting just a pinch less.
