The second major of the golfing year takes place this week as the PGA Championship takes place at Quail Hollow in North Carolina – the action getting underway on Thursday afternoon.

Rory McIlroy heads into this year’s PGA Championship as the joint-favourite for victory having last month become just the sixth man in history to complete the career Grand Slam following his victory at Augusta in the Masters.
The Northern Irishman, ranked number two in the world, has fond memories of playing at Quail Hollow, where he holds the course record with 61, set in 2015, and has won a record four Truist Championships (formerly Wells Fargo) played on the course.
World number one Scottie Scheffler is level with McIlroy in the odds list as the American bids to win his first ever PGA Championship.
The 28-year-old won his first PGA event of the year at the start of the month with victory in CJ Cup Byron Nelson, and will be hoping to carry his good form to North Carolina this weekend.
Bryson DeChambeau finished second at this event last year and will be looking to go one further this time around and the American will be in strong form having won the LIV Golf event in South Korea a fortnight ago.
Justin Thomas heads to Quail Hollow in good form having won the RBC Heritage last month and finished T2 in the Truist Championship last weekend. The 32-year-old American is looking to win his third PGA Championship, the first of which came on this course back in 2017.
