Edmonton Oilers at Dallas Stars predictions
It will be a tough task for the Stars’ defencemen to contain Connor McDavid in this series. The 28-year-old superstar has amassed 17 points through 11 postseason games this year. Elimination night against Vegas saw McDavid fail to register a goal contribution for only the second time in the playoffs.
Leon Draisaitl is the current top goal scorer for the Oilers during this Stanley Cup chase. Lighting the lamp on five occasions this postseason, Draisaitl will look to replicate his form during the regular season in which he notched 52 tallies.
It’s been a phenomenal run for Mikko Rantanen during the 2025 NHL playoffs as he finds himself at the top of the chart after two rounds. His 19 points are two better than the next player on the list, which is impressive as he failed to score a point in his previous two outings.
Playing on three different rosters this year, Rantanen has obtained four points in four clashes against the Oilers.
Scoring the series-clinching goal against Winnipeg in the second round, Thomas Harley is making a name for himself this postseason.
In 13 playoff affairs this campaign, the blueliner has four goals and 11 points to his credit. Harley is logging heavy minutes in the playoffs, averaging over 26 minutes of ice time.
Edmonton Oilers at Dallas Stars betting tip
In game 1 we feel the visitors will set the tone for this best of seven series with the punch they possess on offence. The quality of McDavid and Draisaitl and now a resurgence of depth scoring from the Oilers, makes them a dangerous side.
Dallas will be in tough this series as it will be a different script when they faced Winnipeg, the Oilers have proven they can snatch a road win.
The Achilles heel for Edmonton is between the pipes, that said we feel the Oil can get the better of this Dallas team. Skinner doesn’t need to be spectacular in net, just needs to be average.
On the other hand, Jake Oettinger will need to be on his “A” if Dallas wants to walk away in the win column on Wednesday.
