Josh Taylor will be back in the boxing ring on Saturday night in Glasgow for the first time since his defeat to Jack Catterall in Leeds almost a year ago to the day.
The Scot heads into the weekend having now lost his last two fights following his defeat to Teofimo Lopez in June 2023 in New York City, and will be desperate to get back to winning ways on Saturday back in front of his come crowd for the first time in more than three years.
The 34-year-old carries a 19-2 record, with 13 of his wins coming by knockout, though six of his last seven fights have been decided by decision.

Standing in Taylor’s way of victory and the WBO International welterweight title on Saturday night is the current European champions Ekow Essuman.
The Botswana-born Brit was last in the ring with his majority decision victory over Ben Vaughan in Birmingham back in November, which saw him retain the WBO European welterweight title he won with victory over Owen Cooper in Manchester back in July last year.
The 36-year-old carries a 21-1 record into Glasgow this weekend, with 13 of those coming by decision, with his sole defeat coming back in November 2023 against Harry Scarff, but have returned to winning ways with back to back victories since.
