Jake Paul has given fans a glimpse into sparring as he prepares to face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

The ‘Problem Child’ is set to resume his boxing career in a huge showdown with former world champion Chavez Jr on June 28.

It could be one of Paul’s sternest tests, given Chavez Jr has had 61 professional fights including one defeat to Canelo Alvarez in 2017.

And as a result, the YouTube-turned-boxer is making sure to leave no stone unturned during his training camp in Puerto Rico.

He has posted some footage of himself sharing training rounds with a sparring partner and going through his paces.

The two clips show Paul looking on top against a largely static partner, who looked to simply be giving Paul the opportunity to prepare.

He first landed some big body shots in the opening clip, looking to let his hands go with his rival simply covering up.

And then in the second video, Paul again landed two stiff jabs through the guard of his sparring partner.

He again ripped a big shot to the body of his rival, and looked impressed with himself as he took a break between rounds.

Fans gave a mixed reaction, with one writing: “Fair play, decent move around. Should beat Chavez, given he isn’t in his prime now.”

Another wrote: “Sparring partner didn’t hardly move, good shots though.”

Other fans were less convinced as one claimed: “He looks worse now than three years ago wow.”

A fan even added: “I could have sworn he was better than this, what happened?”

Paul in truth will simply hope he can pick up a victory with a whole host of huge fights in the pipeline.

It could be his biggest victory yet and see him surprisingly given a world ranking, with a view to making a bid against all odds to become world champion.

Victory could set up a showdown with the likes of Gervonta Davis or Badou Jack, two boxers whom discussions have already been held with.

And Paul insists a fight with Davis could take place as an exhibition and it is being worked on.

“That was on the one yard as well, but he has to rematch Lamont Roach,” Paul said.

“He wants to get that back. Then we will be back in discussions with Mr. Gervonta.

“But this is the nature of boxing, you have massive fights on the one-yard line and then they fall through. We’re working on it behind the scenes to make that happen.

“Obviously, that’s a fight where the fans are going to win, and it’s going to be the biggest event of the year.

“I’ll give anybody the smoke. I am just getting warmed up in the sport.

“I want big money fights and tough opponents. I want to become a world champion. You’re going to see me be very active.”
