Edmonton Oilers at Dallas Stars predictions
Assisting on the game-winning goal, Connor McDavid continues to produce for the Oil. His two-point outing on Thursday brings the Oilers captain’s point total to 24, which currently is the most during this playoff phase.
Burnaby, British Columbia native Ryan Nugent-Hopkins keeps stockpiling the points in this playoff clash against Dallas. Through 19 minutes of ice time in game 4, the 32-year-old cataloged a pair of assists. His four appearances in this series have seen Nugent-Hopkins amass nine points.
Mikko Rantanen, who led the Stars to dethrone the Avalanche in the first round, has severely fallen off his production since the middle frame of the second round. In the last six matches, the Finnish international has only obtained two points.
This massive trade deadline acquisition will need to fabricate some high-danger opportunities to keep his squad’s season alive for another day.
Despite the setback, between the pipes Jake Oettinger had a better display in game 4. The Stars netminder successfully stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced in the blue paint. Tuesday was the first occurrence in this series that Oettinger finished a game with a save percentage of .900 percent or better.
Edmonton Oilers at Dallas Stars betting tip
With Thursday’s tilt, we feel in this elimination game for Dallas, both adversaries won’t want to give up many chances to play a cagier type of game. Both goalies in game 4 battled for their respective clubs, we sense that momentum carries over in game 5.
When this encounter is played on the frozen water at American Airlines Center, in six of the previous seven meetings the under has materialized. The total has gone under in four of the prior six games for Edmonton while for Dallas, their under trend has hit in five of their seven initial matches.
