For the second season in a row, the three teams that earned promotion to the Premier League last season have been relegated straight back down to the Championship.
Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United were sent to the second tier last season, and those three teams collected only 66 points in their Premier League campaigns. That collective points tally was fewer than any other group of relegated teams in Premier League history.
Ipswich, Leicester City and Southampton failed to hold on to their top-flight status this term and they could muster just 59 points, which was seven fewer than the previous worst.
There is no doubt that the gap between the Premier League and Championship is growing and Leeds United, Burnley and Sunderland now have the unenviable task of trying to avoid the drop next season.
We take a look at the Premier League relegation odds for the 2025-26 season.

Sunderland 4/11
The Championship playoff winners finished 16 points adrift of third-placed Sheffield United and 24 behind the automatic promotion spots.
It’s clear that the Black Cats will need substantial summer investment if they are to avoid relegation from the Premier League next season.
On the plus side, the Stadium of Light will be buzzing with Mackems, and head coach Regis Le Bris hopes to create a fortress in the northeast.
Burnley 4/9
Burnley conceded only 16 goals in the second-tier last season and the Clarets were unbeaten at Turf Moor.
Manager Scott Parker will hope the defensive solidity of his side can make them competitive in the Premier League next term and there is a strong spine to the side.
Attacking reinforcements looks like a must, and there is work to do, even for a side that collected 100 second-tier points last season.
Leeds 4/5
Leeds were the clear pick in the Championship last term, even if Burnley ran them close in the title race.
The Whites have financial backing from their owners and much of the squad should be capable of stepping up to the Premier League.
At x-x, the Elland Road side are rated as having the best chance of avoiding the drop by the betting and it’s easy to see why.
Wolves 4/1
The Midlands outfit flirted with relegation for much of last season, but Wolves were able to draw clear from the drop zone following the appointment of manager Vítor Pereira.
Star man Matheus Cunha is likely to leave this summer and replacing the Brazilian could be a big ask.
However, if they can snap up some new faces, it’s hard to see Wolves dropping to the Championship.
Brentford 9/2
Manager Thomas Frank has been linked with a move away from Brentford and key players Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo also have their suitors.
However, the Bees have lost key players and managers in the past and bounced back stronger.
They are heading for a fifth straight Premier League campaign, and it’s hard to see the Bees losing their top-flight status.
Fulham 6/1
Fulham finished 11th this season and collected 54 Premier League points. The Cottagers are well-managed under boss Marco Silva and it’s hard to see the regression that would be needed for the Londoners to be relegated. That’s reflected at odds of 6/1.
