ISBAT University unlashes 2024-2025 season squad, vows to break barriers

ISBAT (International Business, Science and Technology) University is pooled in group A of the 2024-2025 Pepsi University Football League (UFL).

They will gel and favorably compete with the reigning champions, Nkumba University, Busitema University and Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU).

At the ISBAT University main campus (Lugogo Bypass), a 25- man squad of players and their coaches was officially made public.

The team is led by skipper Reagan Nambaale, immensely skilled Muhammed Wakabi, goalkeepers Daniel Kakumirizi and Eric Lubandi, among others.

The team also has Jonathan Muwonge, Reina Wafula, Jonathan Wabulo, Emmanuel Okello, Joseph Ngobi, Jonathan Muwonge, Denis Deng Kitibwa Joel, Kabuye Keith, Wasswa Mathew, Travor Busuulwa, Ukasha, Ssenono, Kakeeto Powell, Kalema Ashraf, Mark Kisitu, Joshua Ceasor Ocen, Shadrack Kaliika,  John Paul Kizito, Kevin Ssengendo, Joshua Ssentongo,  Ambrose Oola, Assiimwe Amigos, Jessy Ssekina, Derrick Kembo and Kenneth Kizito.

Improved performances from last season:

On their debut season in 2023-2024, ISBAT University had a dismal and challenging performance, failing to record a single point.

The tiding and expectations have since changed as they now target a slot in the knockout round.

According to the sports tutor, Musa Fahad and the team head coach Edwin Laston, the goal posts have since changed.

We had a special unveiling ceremony that is actually showcasing the talent that ISBAT is going to nurture in the season 2024/25, the same football talent that is going to represent the institution in all competitions majorly the University Football League is going to be the Arena that we shall be able to showcase that we’re the light of the world.

We believe that we’re going to put up a good performance, this time round we have depth in the squad, this time we have a lot of changes, last time we had few players, only 18, this time we have 25. This time we have full scholarships, the boys are talented, so we believe this time it’s going to be better.

Team captain Reagan Nambaale urges the players to take every game in thy midst like a typical cup final.

“We have prepared well and everyone is energized coming to the new season. We shall play our hearts out every game presented before us” Nambaale remarked as the he urged the fans to cheer on the team.

ISBAT University is expected to officially open up this year’s campaign against Nkumba University.

Nkumba University is currently away in Nigeria at the 2024 All Africa University Games hosted in Lagos city.
