The ‘Atomic Bull’ retired in 2019, but made a crazy comeback in 2024 winning two fights against Stacy Frazier and Gary Cobia within the last year.

Incredibly after turning 60, he made his latest comeback against Carlos Reyes, a six-round affair in Texas.

And once again it ended in the most bizarre of circumstances, with the boxing fraternity likely to have raised concern again.

McCall started the brighter but tailed off as Reyes, on a 13-fight winless streak, bravely looked to get the big result.

And he did with the judges calling the contest as a draw with the scorecards at 58-56, 56-58, 57-57.

But in the most concerning manner, it has emerged post-fight that McCall didn’t even throw a punch in the final two rounds of the contest.

This was largely due to confusion in McCall’s corner.

They appeared to believe the fight was only for four rounds, and questioned the timekeeper as to how long remained.

He chose to try and cover up going into survivor mode, with a high guard as to see the final bell.

It showed that his physical conditioning is nothing like his prime heyday, and was a sad ending to his stellar career.

Right now, it is unclear if the veteran intends to fight again.

But after his latest display, it is likely to be advised that he leaves his career behind him before he suffers serious injury.

Shannon Briggs was sat ringside and watched on as McCall struggled in his latest result.

And it appears that ‘The Cannon’ is eyeing a huge showdown with McCall next, and the broadcast team alluded to exactly that.

It could be a dangerous fight for McCall given Briggs is 53-years-old and notorious for his punching power.

Nonetheless, McCall has had an incredible year which peaked at his showdown against Lewis in 1994.

He became the first man to KO Lewis, recording a huge upset to capture the WBC belt.

And his legacy in the sport will live on, having fought some of the best operators around in the blue-riband division.
