UFC fans in hysterics as former fighter Matt Brown referees bizarre crotch-kicking competition

Matt Brown seems to be doing anything to stay busy in retirement.

In May, Brown announced that he was calling time on his career after a 28-fight stint with the UFC, which included 15 wins and several notable records.

With 13 knockouts in the Octagon, Brown holds the welterweight record and only one man has more KOs than him in any division – Derrick Lewis.

But, just a few months after retiring, things have got weird for Brown.

‘The Immortal’ was recently caught on camera acting as a referee during a bizarre crotch-kicking competition for the promotion Fight Circus, which is known for putting on novelty events.

Brown watched on as two men took turns hitting each other in a new sport that seemed to have been created by someone who wanted to take slap fighting to the next level.

Rather than striking with open palms, the competitors took turns kicking each other in the private parts as Brown watched on and laughed hysterically.

A brief snippet of the contest has gone viral, and some UFC fans were equally amused by the bizarre competition, while others worried it could give Dana White a bright idea.

One fan said: “This is 1000% better than Power Slap.”

Another added: “Hope Dana White doesn’t see this. He’ll create a crotch kicking league stream it and say it’s the fastest growing sport in the world.”

Someone else commented: “We need the full footage.”

A fourth person suggested: “Next you should have an ultimate eye poke championship and get Chris Weidman in there.”

Brown reposted the footage to all of his social media accounts.

He added the caption: “So much for power slap!

“This s*** is next level!”

Brown is not the first UFC icon to feature at a Fight Circus event

In April 2023, former light heavyweight champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson teamed up with MMA fan favourite Bob Sapp for a ‘Siamese boxing’ match.

Jackson and Sapp were tied together wearing a big T-shirt after getting acclimated by channelling Rocky Balboa and chasing chickens together ahead of the strange two-on-two matchup.

It seems Fight Circus is here to stay, but it’s highly unlikely they’ll find more than a handful of people to take part in their crotch-kicking competition.

Still, Brown appeared to have a great time and now that he’s retired the American is free to oversee whatever bizarre fights they make in the future.
