Under 2.5 goals in Manchester City vs Arsenal – 3/4
The two league meetings between Manchester City and Arsenal last season produced just one goal and anyone who has watched the Gunners recently will be in little doubt about how Mikel Arteta is going to set his team up.
Without Martin Odegaard, Arsenal have been severely lacking creativity and their priority will be keeping things secure at the back.
The Gunners played out a goalless draw with Atalanta on Thursday as David Raya produced a stunning double save from a penalty to keep them in the tie.
They have had a day less than the Citizens to prepare for this clash and are likely to employ similar tactics to the ones that saw them grind out a 1-0 win away at north London rivals Tottenham last time out.
City were held to a 0-0 draw themselves in midweek by Inter and they might also be happy to settle into a familiar pattern with these opponents rather than overcommit, particularly if Kevin De Bruyne’s groin problem rules him out.
Take under 2.5 goals in what may be a cagey clash.
Special of the day
Bet Boost – Brighton to win and both teams to score – 11/4
Brighton have been one of the more impressive teams in the Premier League this season, and they have won four of their six games in all competitions under new manager Fabian Hurzeler.
They are fancied to get the better of this Nottingham Forest side, who have had a very respectable start to the campaign but may simply get outscored by a Brighton team that beat Wolves 3-2 in the EFL Cup this week.
The Tricky Trees stunnedLiverpool 1-0 at Anfield last time out but those performances can be hard to back up and they could fall short in this televised clash.
Side with Brighton to win a game in which both teams score.
Long shot of the day
Hakan Calhanoglu first goalscorer vs Milan – 13/2
Hakan Calhanoglu has become one of the top midfielders in the world at Inter and he could open the scoring when his team takes on Milan in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina.
The Turkish star scored 13 times in Serie A last season and five of his last 11 league goals were ones that broke the deadlock.
In what looks set to be a fiercely contested derby, take Calhanoglu to be the player to open the scoring.
