Justin Fields is a winner now that the former first-round pick has left Chicago and the Bears’ drama.

Fields won in Week 1, won in Week 2 and won again in Week 3.

After being coldly discarded by the Bears, the 25-year-old quarterback is now a perfect 3-0 leading the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fields was supposed to be the back up on his new team, watching veteran Russell Wilson lead Pittsburgh’s offense.

But an injury has kept Wilson off the field and has given Fields a career-changing opportunity.

He’s one of the few remaining undefeated QBs in the NFL and is putting up better numbers than contemporaries with much bigger names and salaries.

Fields played his best game of 2024 on Sunday, completing 25-of-32 passes for 245 yards, one touchdown and a 96 rating in the Steelers’ 20-10 home win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Entering the contest, Los Angeles QB Justin Herbert was the big story.

After Fields improved to 3-0 with the Steelers, the QB moved aside for Caleb Williams was trending on social media.

While Williams was forced to rely on a wristband to improve his Week 3 chances, Fields reminded NFL fans why he was once viewed as the answer for the Bears.

“The Bears are a terrible franchise,” one fan tweeted.

“I always knew he had it in him,” a second fan posted. “Just had a horrible OC in Chicago.”

“Fields was and will always be an amazing athlete,” a third fan wrote. “Bears organization didn’t do their part until his trade to Pittsburgh. No point digging up the past, hope he balls out and has a long fruitful career!”

Fields went 10-28 during a three-year run with Chicago, only completing 60.3 per cent of his passes.

But the former Ohio State star threw 40 total touchdowns and ran for 1,143 yards in 2022.

In February, Fields made it clear that he wanted to stay in Chicago.

“Of course I want to stay,” Fields said on the St. Brown Brothers podcast. “I can’t see myself playing in another place. But if it was up to me, I would want to stay in Chicago. I love the city. The city’s lit. The fans there are great, and the people.

“It’s a business. I ain’t got no control over it; whatever happens, happens. I think the biggest thing with all this going on right now, I just want it to be over. Like, just let me know if I’m getting traded, let me know if I’m staying, this and that.”

Fields was traded in March to Pittsburgh.

Chicago received a 2025 sixth-round pick that becomes a fourth-round selection if Fields plays 51 per cent of snaps this season with the Steelers.

Williams eventually became a Bear and Chicago went all-in on the No. 1 pick.

Through three games, Williams has thrown four interceptions and lost in prime time.

Fields previously became so frustrated that he stopped following the Bears on social media.

“It’s something that I don’t want to see on my timeline,” Fields said in February. “I’m about to go on vacation. I don’t want to see no football.

“And guess what? (Social media is) either keep Fields, we want Fields. It’s either draft Caleb.

“I’m tired of hearing the talk. I just want it to be over.”

Fields hasn’t lost in 2024 — and he’s been much better away from Chicago.
