It turns out that WWE star Rhea Ripley is stronger than the former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor.

A video posted on X shows McGregor attempting a grip strength test upon his arrival at Wembley Stadium for Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois.

‘The Notorious’ was spotted on camera several times during Dubois’ shocking upset over Joshua, who McGregor says can come back for sure and win the rematch.

He was even caught interrupting an interview with Oleksandr Usyk, who proceeded to impersonate the Irishman, copying his ‘billionaire strut’.

McGregor was offered a hand dynamometer as he came through the backstage entrance at Wembley, which he gripped with his infamous left hand to mark a score of 55.8kg.

One user on X then compared the video side-by-side with former WWE Women’s World Champion Ripley, who achieved a higher score with just over 57kg.

She then responded to the video on the same platform with a cheeky wink, suggesting her delight at surpassing the MMA icon’s grip record.

Ripley’s 380-day reign with her former title is tied with fellow superstar Bayley as the longest in the championship’s history.

Real name, Demi Bennett, Ripley is an Australian wrestler who has been signed to the organisation since July 2017, but only made her main roster debut in 2021 on an episode of Raw.

In the last three years, she has become one of the most popular wrestlers within the WWE, successfully winning the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble after beginning the match as the first entrant.

Ripley has an opportunity to claim back the world title against arch nemesis Liv Morgan at Bad Blood, which is returning after 20 years on October 5, 2024.

The main event sees CM Punk take on Drew McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell.

As for McGregor, he hasn’t been shy of giving himself a challenge outside of the octagon at social events.

Last year, he spent some time with fans at his Black Forge Inn pub in Dublin, where he was greatly encouraged to display his devastating power on a punch machine.

However, his left hand – the same one he used to knock out Jose Aldo in 2015 – only registered a score of one, which you would also achieve by simply poking the bag forward at ease.

This month, McGregor shared another video of him blasting a different punch machine on Instagram.

The footage cut out just before his punches had registered, so it’s unclear as to whether the Irishman still has his killer instinct as he nears a return to the UFC.

Michael Chandler, McGregor’s original comeback opponent, is now fighting Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 as the co-main event to Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic, so it is unlikely he will fight again before the new year.
