Kevin Vallejos earned a UFC contract in style on Tuesday night in Las Vegas.
The 22-year-old lost to Jean Silva when he first appeared on Dana White’s Contender Series, which matches prospects against each other in fights that could lead to a contract with the UFC.

However, he was invited back and given another chance to impress White.
Vallejos took his opportunity with both hands as he KO’d Cam Teague in round 1.
The featherweight fighter cracked his opponent with two body shots after 75 seconds before letting rip with a barrage of strikes to finish the fight.
A staggering 20 punches went unanswered by Teague before he eventually fell to the floor and was saved by the referee waving off the fight.
The camera panned to the UFC boss, who was on his feet clapping Vallejos.
White mouthed the words ‘Good job’ before offering ‘El Chino’ a contract.
After improving his professional record to 14-1 and making his UFC dream come true, Vallejos took to social media to pay homage to his fallen foe.
“Respect to Cam Teague,” he wrote on X.
“You deserve to be in the UFC more than a lot of guys in the division. You will be back and I am very grateful that you fought me.
“I am a fan now and will be cheering you on in your career moving forward.”

Teague explained the fight-ending sequence on his personal Facebook page.
The 7-1 fighter revealed he was unable to defend himself after taking a nasty body shot.
“Sorry everyone got caught in the body and I couldn’t recover,” Teague said.
“Part of the game I got the fight on short notice but it didn’t matter I came prepared tonight how I always do it just didn’t go my way tonight. 8 fights in a year n half gonna take some time and come back. (I have too anyways thanks to being suspended )
“Felt the fight was going good up until I got caught. Promise to work hard and come back better it’s all I know how to do. I wasn’t buzzed or hurt anywhere other than in my body.
“Hurts the heart to go out like that on the big stage but just gotta overcome it. Won’t let it define me as a fighter see you soon. Thank you for the support. God bless.”
