Eddie Hall confirmed he is hopeful of fighting former World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski ‘early next year’.

Hall is keen to take on his next fight after losing to Hafthor Bjornsson in 2022, before stepping into the octagon for a bizarre 2vs1 clash with the Neffati Brothers.

Talks are ongoing with the five-time World’s Strongest Man Pudzianowski, he confirmed on Thursday morning.

Speaking on Sky News, he said: “Early next year. Hopefully, not signed on the dotted line yet. I’m hopefully fighting Mariusz Pudzianowski, who actually won the World’s Strongest Man five times in the past.

“In MMA you have 4oz gloves, but you might as well not wear anything. It’s pretty much bare knuckle.”

He is still training ready for that fight for when it is eventually signed.

The 36-year-old added: “I fight train most mornings and weight training in the afternoon. When camp starts I switch the weight training for more swimming to get my cardio up.”

Hall himself is a former World’s Strongest Man, winning the crown in 2017, and is also well known for his then record 500kg deadlift.

He is officially retired from strongman competing, but was asked about what it takes to be the best in the world.

Hall said: “To be the World’s Strongest Man takes years and years of dedication to diet, training and recovery.

“I always say it’s the equivalent of three full-time jobs. You’ve got a job of eating, job of training and a job of recovering.”

He added: “12,000 calories a day. Not so much now, I’m on about 6,000 or 8,000 calories a day roughly now.

“Strongman days would be full English breakfast, we are talking four of everything. Second breakfast would be porridge.

“Two dinners, one would be steak, chicken and rice. The other would be sandwiches and flapjack.

“Then you’d be snacking during training, lots of milk. We are talking gallons of full fat milk.”
