With training camp around the corner, Morant took to his Instagram and posted the following graphic, signed with his signature.

“When the lights are off, when the critics are loud, when I have every reason to give in, I get up.”

The lights have definitely been off of Morant as he has fallen out of the spotlight in the last year and a half.

From flashing guns on Instagram live to suspensions and season ending shoulder surgery, the star point guard has taken a far fall from grace.

It wasn’t too long ago that Morant was positioning himself as the future face of the league.

The Association was going to be his.

Acrobatic dunks, delivering in big moments, breaking franchise records, Morant was setting the NBA world on fire.

Everything was at Morant’s fingertips.

Then a tidal wave of poor decisions led to Morant’s unraveling.

Now the Grizzlies franchise star is looking to get it all back.

Ja Morant’s return to the NBA is eagerly anticipated

Having played in only nine games last season, and 70 total in the last two years, Morant is looking to remind everyone that he is still that guy who delivers on a nightly basis.

In a stacked Western Conference, Morant and the Grizzlies will come into the season under the radar.

Coming off a miserable 27-55 season and finishing 13th in the conference, Memphis has a lot to prove.

It wasn’t too long ago Morant and the Grizzlies were the two seed in back-to-back years.

However, given everything that has transpired since then, that feels like a lifetime ago.

There is no shortage of talent in Memphis. Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart, Jaren Jackson Jr. and their monster first round pick in Zach Edey, all makes for a potentially lethal starting five.

They have the talent, they have the experience.

And now they have their star point guard back.

That is a dangerous sight for the rest of the league.

Forget Morant at your peril.
