Francis Ngannou will headline a stacked PFL event on October 19.

The former UFC heavyweight champion hasn’t fought in MMA since outpointing Ciryl Gane over five rounds at UFC 270 in January 2022.

Since then, he’s left Dana White’s league, signed with PFL and made tens of millions boxing former world champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in massive crossover fights.

Ngannou gave a good account of himself, but after suffering back-to-back defeats against boxing’s best the Cameroonian KO artist has decided to return to his MMA roots.

Earlier this year, it was announced that he will face 6ft 8in Brazilian Renan Ferreira, who earned the fight by knocking out Ryan Bader in 21 seconds.

On Wednesday, it was confirmed that four massive fights will take place before Ngannou and Ferreira throw down in the main event of PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants.

The co-main event is a major world title fight between MMA legend Cris Cyborg and PFL two-division Champion Larissa Pacheco, who recently became the first person to beat Kayla Harrison.

Cyborg is widely regarded as the greatest women’s MMA fighter of all time, but she never got to fight Ronda Rousey, and when she did face Amanda Nunes, she got KO’d inside one minute.

Before that, Fabian Edwards will get another chance to become a world champion like his brother Leon Edwards, who recently lost his UFC welterweight title to Belal Muhammad.

He’ll rematch Johnny Elben for the Bellator middleweight belt after suffering a third-round knockout loss at the hands of the American when they fought last year.

They were supposed to meet in London in September, but the bout was pulled from that event before being added to what is one of the best MMA cards of the year.

An exciting featherweight contest between Switzerland’s Husein Kadimagomaev and Zafar Mohsen, who trains with Khamzat Chimaev, will be the second fight on the main card.
