Chelsea v Brighton preview
Chelsea head into the weekend having won three games on the spin in all competitions and having only dropped two points in the Premier League since the opening game of the season.
Enzo Maresca’s side appear to be settling well after another big summer overhaul in the transfer window having joined the club from Leicester at the end of last season.
The Italian appears to be ticking several boxes so far, having won five of their last seven matches in all competitions, the sole defeat in that run coming in their Conference League play-off second leg where they still progressed through the tie on aggregate.
The Blues enjoyed a 5-0 win over Barrow in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night to leave them heading into Saturday’s tough fixture with Brighton having won their last three games, and their 3-0 win over West Ham in last weekend’s London derby leaves them side fifth in the Premier League table, just three points off top spot.

Brighton have also enjoyed a promising start to life under their new manager, 31-year-old Fabian Hurzeler, whose strong start to life as a Premier League manager was rewarded with the Manager of the Month award for the opening month of the new season.
Hurzeler’s men are one of only a small handful of sides yet to taste defeat in any competition so far this season, though after three consecutive wins to start the campaign, the Seagulls last four results have ended with three stalemates.
Draws in their last three Premier League matches has quelled their early season rise up the table, but the Sussex coast side will still be more than happy with their seventh placed position they hold on to ahead of this weekend’s match, one they’ll back themselves to get a positive result from after returning from the Emirates with a point last month.
Chelsea have won their last three matches against Brighton in all competitions and will expect to extend that run on Saturday, thouogh the Seagulls had lost just one in seven against the Blues before that run so still have fond memories of coming up against Chelsea in recent years.
