Liverpool make the trip to Italy on Tuesday night looking to get back to winning ways having suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday afternoon, having been surprisingly defeated at home by Nottingham Forest.
Arne Slot will be taking charge of his first European match as Liverpool manager, and has started his tenure as Jurgen Klopp’s replacement well with three wins in his opening four matches in charge in the Premier League.

AC Milan have endured a slow start to the season following their second placed finish in Serie A last term, winning just one of their four games so far, though that victory did come in their most recent outing, a 4-0 win over Venezia on Saturday night.
Like Liverpool, the Italian also have a new manager at the helm in the form of Paulo Fonseca, the former Porto, Roma and Lille manager, who will looking forward to his first taste of European football with his new club at the San Siro.
It had been a slow start for the Portuguese manager in charge of his new club, going winless in his first three games, and five points from four at this stage of the season leaves the club ninth in the Serie A table, but his first win as Rossoneri boss has come at a timely juncture, with Liverpool and Inter Milan to play this week.
Liverpool have won three of their four matches against AC Milan, with the first two meetings famously coming in Champions League finals, with one win apiece in 2005 and 2007, but the Reds did manage to win home and away against Milan in the group stage of the 2021-22 season.
