The road to the 2025 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations gets underway on Wednesday with four matches on card across Africa.
In Dar es Salaam, Taifa Stars of Tanzania host Cecafa rivals Ethiopia in a Group H match with either targeting a winning start to the qualification campaign.
Tanzania, who featured at the last edition of the Afcon finals at the expense of Uganda will also start life without long-serving forward Mbwana Ally Samata.
The hosts are also missing the team’s best player in the last four years Simon Msuva pointing to a new era.
Group H also has DR Congo and Guinea who face off in the other match on September 6.
In Tripoli, former Uganda Cranes coach Mulitin Micho Sredojevic faces former bosses Rwanda at the June 11 stadium, Tripoli.
The two nations are in group D along with three-time champions Nigeria and another West African powerhouse Benin.
Elsewhere, Comoros host Gambia in group A while Sudan and Niger lock horns in group F.
The month of September will have two match days that will end on 10.
