The Los Angeles Lakers slid to 12-9 on the season after a dismal 109-80 defeat to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
It is hard to pin the loss on a single player, but LeBron James will take most of the heat – that’s what happens when you are an all-time great.

The 39-year-old superstar scored just 10 points after going 4-for-16 from the floor.
Alarmingly, he missed all four of his 3-pointers – meaning he is 0-19 from range over his last four games.
That is just two shy of RJ Barrett’s unwanted record of 21 missed 3s over a four-game stretch.
LeBron’s age and reputation mean he always has a target on his back, and the iconic superstar accepts his game is off right now.
“I’m just not good offensively right now,” he admitted via LakersDaily as the team lost for the fifth time in their last seven games.
Fans were divided as they responded to what for The King was perhaps an unusually frank moment of weakness.
“In other words. I’m old and wash,” said one particular response.
“And defensively, Sir,” added another.
“At least he’s honest about it. Hopefully he turns it around soon,” wrote a third on X.
“At least he’s holding himself accountable, he’s also very bad defensively as well,” a fourth agreed.
“At least he knows, just gotta bounce back,” a fifth concluded.
James’ worst run from three was missing 24 straight between December 26, 2003 and January 13, 2004, according to ESPN.
He turns 40 this month wants to play in every game this season.
But Lakers head coach JJ Redick suggested a rest may be on the cards.
“I don’t know that’s in the best interest of him and us if he does that, but if he’s feeling well and feeling good, then he should play,” he said. “But we obviously want to manage that as best we can.”
“It’s everything,” James revealed when asked what he was struggling with.
“It’s the rhythm. I just feel off rhythm the last few, three or four games.”
Restored to a starting spot, D’Angelo Russell scored 20 points against the Timberwolves.
But it was a bad night for the rest of the Lakers.
Redick thinks he has a capable group but admits he doesn’t know how to get the best out of his team right now.
“I’ve not seen us play the way we played earlier in the year,” he added
“I mean, I’ve got to spend all day tomorrow with my staff trying to figure out how we get back to that.”
“Sometimes we look like a team that can compete with anyone, and sometimes we look like a team that looks terrible and is not going to do anything this season,” explained Anthony Davis, who had 12 rebounds but just 11 points against Minnesota.
“So we just got to figure out what team that we want to be for the rest of the season.
“I think we had games where we were phenomenal and we had games where we were disgusting like tonight.”
The Miami Heat are up next on Wednesday.
