Aminah Nababi completes move to Indian club

Forward Amnah Nababi has sealed a move to India Women League outfit Sethu Football Club.

The diminutive left footed forward put pen to paper on a two-year at the club based in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

Nababi left the country at the start of this week to join her new team thanks to Sepuya Inc Agency who made sure the deal materialized. The agency has worked on several deals for female footballers recently including Resty Nanziri, Aisha Nantongo and Fazila Ikwaput among others.

Sethu FC President Seeni Mohaideen believes Nababi is a good addition to the team and will help them achieve their targets.

“Amnah profile perfectly aligns with our club’s philosophy of nurturing talented, dynamic players. Our coach was keen on bringing her onboard, recognizing her skill set and potential to contribute to our vision. We believe she will be a great asset to Sethu FC and look forward to her impact in the upcoming season.” He said.

Before moving to India, Nababi has featured for several clubs in Uganda including Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, Makerere University WFC and Rines SS WFC.

The new season in India is expected to begin in January 2025 and Nabibi is expected to use the next few months to acclimatize to the new environment.

Nabibi is known for her trickery and ability to dribble past defenders thanks to her sweet left foot.

She is christened Proud Lefter by her peers already has a number of caps with the Senior National Team, the Crested Cranes.

She becomes the second player currently playing in India, joining Fazila Ikwaput who features for Gokulam Kerala.
