Having bolted up on debut for Charles Byrnes after attracting a lot of support in the betting market, BRAVE TROOP can make it back-to-back wins today.

The handicapper hit him with a 16-pound hike in the weights, and he now contests an 80-116, but that is not as bad as it sounds.

There’s not a massive difference in the standard of horses from the 80 to 95 handicap that he won to the 80 to 116 handicap that he now has to contest.

In terms of his win and the fact that this will be just his second run for Charles Byrnes, there is every reason that Brave Troop can win back-to-back handicap hurdles today despite the hike in weights.

Navan 1:10 – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Handicap Hurdle (3m1f)

BILLY LEE SWAGGER was unlucky not to make a winning return at Punchestown last month, but after that run, he looks ready for a step up in trip.

He has never run over three miles on the track, but this running style suggests it can bring out even more improvement.

He is off a nice weight, and Tiernan Power Roach’s seven pounds claim only adds to his appeal.

On paper, there should be plenty of pace, and with Billy Lee Swagger being seen to best use his ability when held up, this race should set up nicely for him.

He’s a big player off a nice weight.
