Angers v PSG predictions
Angers started the season with three straight defeats and had to wait until gameweek nine to record their first win.
They currently sit 15th in the table with 10 points from 10 games played. That sees them outside of the relegation playoff zone on goal difference and just one point outside the bottom two.
But despite this, things are looking up.
After their disastrous start, Le SCO have only lost one of their last seven. And they are now four matches unbeaten, and on a winning streak of two.
The wins have come at home to Saint-Étienne (4-2) in gameweek 9 and away to Monaco (1-0) in gameweek 10. The back-to-back victories came after impressive 1-1 draws away at Marseille and Toulouse.
Slowly but surely, manager Alexandre Dujeux is turning the team’s fortunes around.
But a home fixture against the free scoring PSG will represent different challenges altogether. Especially for a team that hasn’t managed one clean sheet in their five matches at the Stade Raymond Kopa so far this campaign.
Their first shutout of the season did occur last weekend in the 1-0 win away to Monaco. And it wasn’t a complete smash and grab victory for Dujeux’s team.
Monaco may have had the majority of the possession (65%), but the stats show that attempts on goal were 11-10 in favour of the hosts and the attempts on target were 3-3. Angers were more than a match for the Champions League contenders.
Angers’ Saturday night opponents PSG are the dominant force in France this season.
Paris sit top of Ligue 1 with 26 points from ten matches. They hold a six-point lead over second-place Marseille, who the leaders defeated 3-0 at the Stade Vélodrome in gameweek nine.
So far this season, PSG have scored 29 goals in their ten Ligue 1 matches. Already another league title is looking a formality.
The differences of opinion between manager Luis Enrique and the volatile Ousmane Dembele seem to have been forgotten for now. And in Bradley Barcola they have one of the most exciting footballers in the division.
The 22-year-old has eight goals and two assists in his ten league games this season. And he was unfortunate not to add to his goals tally in their most recent match, the 2-1 Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
PSG will be smarting from the defeat.
They dominated Wednesday’s fixture with 72% possession. In chances created, it was 22-4 to the hosts and in chances on target it was 9-3.
Paris took the lead through Warren Zaïre-Emery after 14 minutes. But sloppy defending allowed Nahuel Molina to level the match just four minutes later.
Worse was to come. PSG should have wrapped up the victory comfortably, but they blew chance after chance. Eventually they were punished when substitute Ángel Correa won the match for Atletico with the last kick of the game.
Luckily for PSG, the chances are Angers won’t be as ruthless on Saturday.
Angers v PSG betting tips
Angers is in a good place at the moment. And with the international break just around the corner, it would be dangerous for Paris to take this fixture lightly.
We don’t think they will. The league leaders will want to finish on a high, especially after last Wednesday’s setback in the Champions League. We can see PSG coming through a tough battle with the win. More betting tips on the match can be found below:
PSG to win and both teams to score
The smart money is on a win for PSG, but at odds of 23/100, are they really a good value bet against a team that have just had their best result of the season?
A win for PSG with both teams to score is 73/50, and a Paris win with both teams not scoring is 6/5.

We feel that PSG looked sloppy at the back against Atletico in the Champions League on Wednesday. That coupled with the good form of Angers in recent weeks makes a goal for the hosts more likely than not.
Back PSG to win and both teams to score at 73/50 with SBK
Both teams to score (Yes)
I’ve included this selection in case you think that Angers are playing well enough to maybe sneak a draw.
It’s a cert that PSG will find the back of the net. And with the hosts coming into the fixture in a good run of form, there is a more than decent chance they will find the back of the net as well.
Furthermore, both teams have scored in seven of Angers last eight matches in Ligue 1. And both teams have scored in seven of PSG’s ten domestic league matches this season.
The league leaders have kept clean sheets in their last two matches. But in the 3-0 win over Marseille the hosts were down to 10 men after 20 minutes, and in last Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Lens, the visitors managed 13 attempts at goal (only three were on target).
Lens also had a player sent off, meaning they had to play the last 30 minutes with 10 men. On another night they could easily have scored with the amount of chances they created. And that bodes well for Angers to find the net on Saturday.
Back both teams to score (Yes) at 4/5 with SBK
Achraf Hakimi to score or assist
This tip started off a hunch wager based on how involved Achraf Hakimi was in a lot of PSG’s best moments against Atletico in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The full back was a prominent feature in PSG’s attacking play and was very unfortunate not to score or assist against the Spaniards. It could be argued he was a touch wasteful as well.
But the statistics do back up this bet.
Already this season the attacking full back has chipped in with four goal involvements (three assists and one goal) in eight matches for PSG in the league. And in the Champions League, he has one goal in four matches.
If he gets into the same sort of positions against Angers that he did against Atletico, a goal or an assist is a real possibility.
Choose Achraf Hakimi to score or assist at 98/100 with SBK
