Nemostars, as largely expected, have bowed out of the CAVB Zone V Club Championship at the hands of APR.

The Rwandese side eased to a straight sets win (25-19, 25-18, 25-15) against a Nemo side that had nothing going for them save the opening set of the contest at Lugogo.

As has been the case throughout the tournament against their matches, the side struggled with reception to set up their attack which usually goes through skipper George Aporu, Esau Ecil and Ivan Ongom.

Libero Brian Musinguzi barely got any clean ball to setter Smith Okumu who did not hide his frustration in the second set.

For APR, it was just another game in which they were not required to hit second gear to earn points as Nemo’s block was not harming.

Nemo will have to do quick soul-searching as they prepare to represent the country at the African Club Championship next month.

Meanwhile, in the first quarterfinal, Rwanda Police registered a walkover South Sudanese side COBRA.

Next up is an all-Ugandan quarterfinal between Sport-S and KAVC while REG takes on Burundian side Rukinzo in the last quarterfinal.
