Arnold Palmer Invitational 2025 Golf betting preview
Golf honours one of its absolute legends this week as the PGA Tour pitches up at Bay Hill in Florida for the annual Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy – the top two in the world rankings – are the headline acts and they’ve won Arnie’s event three times between them.
Scheffler’s victories came in 2022 and 2024 so he’s the defending champion.
Bay Hill is a tough par 72 measuring just short of 7,500 yards.
With thick rough, water on half the holes, numerous sandtraps and fast-running Bermuda greens, it’s a real test and three of the last five editions have been won with single digits under par.
Windy conditions are expected for Thursday and Sunday’s closer so skill and patience will be required in abundance.
Tiger Woods, who isn’t in the field, won this event eight times and past course form has been a good pointer.

Lowry the best each-way bet
That windy forecast will put Shane Lowry backers on high alert although there are many reasons why the Irishman looks a great each-way punt here.
Lowry bases himself in Florida so Orlando is a short commute and he posted 11th in last week’s Cognizant Classic, the first leg of the Florida Swing.
Here at Bay Hill he was third last year and current form suggests the 2019 Open champion can get in the mix again.
Lowry was runner-up to McIlroy at Pebble Beach last month and at the Cognizant he ranked 5th for Strokes Gained: Approach.
An elite iron game will be required this week so, as that’s a big strength, Lowry looks a standout each-way bet at 28/1 with Paddy Power.

Ben Griffin to beat Taylor Pendrith
Ben Griffin is the outsider against Taylor Pendrith in a 72-hole match bet with bet365 but the American can get the better of the Canadian.
The key is the location: Florida.
Pendrith impressed on the West Coast Swing at the start of the season but his last six events in Florida, the Sunshine State, show five missed cuts and a 69th. The latest early exit came at PGA National last week.
Contrast that with Griffin whose last two Florida outings produced a fourth place at the Cognizant Classic on Sunday and 17th in the Valspar Championship 12 months ago.
Griffin also made the top four in Mexico two starts ago and his iron play and putting both look on point.
He’s ranked 3rd and 19th for Strokes Gained: Approach in his two most recent events and was also in the top 20 for SG: Putting in both those tournaments.

Russell Henley for Top American
I’m giving maximum respect to Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy this week.
Tommy Fleetwood and Ludvig Aberg add to the European challenge.
So how about an each-way bet on the Top American market where in-form Russell Henley appeals at 30/1 with BetVictor (1/4 odds, 5 places).
Henley has three top 10s in his last four starts and he was fourth in this event in 2024.
Scheffler is the clear favourite in this market but Henley is capable of filling an each-way slot and perhaps even winning it if the World No.1 isn’t quite at his best.
