Arsenal have gone through each of their last ten games in the EFL Cup when facing lower league opposition.
Their last ‘cupset’ came against Sheffield Wednesday when they lost 3-0 in the fourth round of the 2015/16 season, to the Championship side.
Bolton don’t have a good record against the Gunners either, with just one win away to the London side in their last 23 such fixtures.
Losing as many as 18 of their visits with their last win over 30 years ago in the FA Cup fourth round replay in 1994.
But this is their first trip away to Arsenal since 2011, when the gunners won 2-1 in the League Cup fourth round.
Bolton haven’t reached the fourth round in the league cup since then either, so it’s almost come full circle for the Wanderers, but they face Arsenal in their best form since then too really.
While the Gunners will likely still be reeling from their huge clash against Man City on Sunday evening, where they narrowly lost out on all three points thanks to a last minute equaliser from John Stones.
