Arsenal vs Liverpool predictions
Arsenal suffered their second slip in the Premier League when they lost 2-0 away to Bournemouth last Saturday.
The defeat was the Gunners’ first loss of the season, and along with draws away to Manchester City (2-2) and home to Brighton (1-1), it was the third time Mikel Arteta’s team has dropped points this season.
Apart from failing to win, the one thing all three of those matches have in common is Arsenal finished the games with 10 men. There is a possibility that the Gunners would have an eight from eight record this season if they could keep their full playing quota on the pitch.
The 2-0 loss to Bournemouth was followed by a less than convincing 1-0 Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk, where the Gunners needed an own goal from keeper Dmytro Riznyk to clinch the victory.
Nevertheless, this is not the time for Arsenal to panic. They are four points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool and three behind Manchester City.
The Gunners are still in the race to win the title and nothing will be won over the next few games. The only thing Arsenal can achieve is making life harder for themselves in the long run by pressing the panic button.
As for Liverpool, they sit top of the Premier League table with 21 points from eight games.
This is the week that was supposed to tell us if they are in the title race for the long run.
Matches against Chelsea, RB Leipzig and Arsenal in eight days were always going to be testing. And with two wins from two at this stage, so far, things are going well for the Reds.
But if they are to go to the Emirates and beat Arsenal, Arne Slot’s team will really announce themselves as genuine title contenders.
Not only will it see Liverpool open up a seven-point lead over the Gunners, it will also send a message to the rest of the Premier League that Liverpool means business.
Both teams have injury problems ahead of the fixture. Doubtful for Arsenal are Bukayo Saka and Riccardo Calafiori. Liverpool is without injured keeper Alisson Becker. Also doubtful is Diogo Jota.

Arsenal vs Liverpool betting tips
This is a real testing fixture for the Gunners. A home match against Liverpool is never going to be easy. But this is against a strong looking Liverpool team who have just passed their first real test of the Premier League season with a 2-1 win over in-form Chelsea.
Will Arsenal stand up and be counted? Or is the pressure of two poor performances going to weigh on their shoulders when they face Arne Slot’s team? We can see Liverpool leaving North London with at least a point. Check out our reasons why in our betting tips below:
Liverpool and draw
When the pressure is on, one of the last teams you want to come up against is one that is miserly in defence.
After a 2-0 defeat and a poorish – albeit winning – performance in Europe, Arsenal needs a confidence boosting win. A nice home fixture against a bottom of the table team that is conceding goals for fun would be ideal.
Instead, Arsenal will have to do things the hard way against top-of-the-table Liverpool.
If the Gunners do beat Liverpool, they will remind everybody that they are the real deal. Remember, it’s not that long ago that they were very unlucky not to leave the Etihad with all three points.

But Liverpool is in a good place. They are in good form and they also know it’s not a disaster if they don’t win this match.
We expect Liverpool to be patient and wait for Arsenal to make a mistake. And with the Gunners under pressure, we can see that mistake coming.
Liverpool may not win the match, but they look good to secure a draw at the very least.

Both teams to score
Liverpool clearly don’t concede too many goals. Their backline has only been breached three times in the Premier League all season to be precise.
But Arsenal has only failed to find the net once in the Premier League this season and that was against Bournemouth last weekend.
The Gunners have also scored in every match at the Emirates in all competitions.
In the Premier League, Arsenal have ten in four matches. And in all competitions, they have scored 18 in seven matches. It’s hard to see Liverpool keeping them out.
Furthermore, Liverpool conceded against Chelsea last Sunday. They’ve been solid against some of the Premier League’s lower teams. But keeping clean sheets against the top teams is a different story.
Back both teams to score at 13/20 with Paddy Power
Luis Diaz to score or assist
Luis Diaz has been in excellent form for Liverpool this season.
In his eight Premier League appearances he has registered five goals and one assist. He seems to have found a new lease of life under new boss Arne Slot and has become a regular fixture in the starting line up under the Dutchman.
He could be up against Cody Gakpo for a place in the starting line up on Sunday. Slot has given his fellow Dutchman the starting place against Chelsea and RB Leipzig.
But the chances are that Slot will be looking to freshen things up for the trip to Arsenal and could hand the place back to the Columbian, who lets face it, will be very unlucky not to be starting.
At odds of 9/4 to score or assist, if he does start, a bet on Diaz looks worth a go.
