When you’re 5-foot-8, it’s unlikely you’ll ever be able to touch the rim of a basketball hoop.
However, it seems Ashton Jeanty is the exception, with footage of the superstar running back dunking recently going viral.

“Ashton Jeanty is a flat-out freak athlete!” Fox Analyst Jordan Schultz posted on X with the video of him dunking.
“Just got sent these clips of him on the basketball court — throwing down dunks like it’s nothing. Explosive, powerful and smooth.”
Fans were shocked at Jeanty’s dunking ability with the video quickly amassing over 100,000 views, sparking strong reactions.
“Jeanty is 5’-8” & spud webbing that thang,” Someone else added.
“Doin that at 5’8 is crazy,” Another fan posted.
One more fan commented, “Man is 5’8, dunking like that!? ATHLETE!”
Schultz is a big fan of Jeanty, and while the former Boise State star is expected to be the top running back off the board in this year’s NFL draft, he still believes he is being undervalued.
“I had a GM tell me a couple days ago that Ashton Jeanty is being slept on,” Schultz said on The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
“I said, what do you mean? He’s going to be a top-five, top-ten pick. He said, no, you don’t understand.
“This guy is a superstar. People are talking about him like he’s just a really good player. He is a superstar—he’s a day-one, 1,500-yard guy.”

Jeanty established himself as the best running back prospect in the country after a historic season at Boise State.
He led the Bronocs to the College Football Playoff and earned a spot as a Heisman Trophy finalist.
He’s made enough of an impact in the NFL world that Aaron Rodgers hailed the star on the Pat McAfee show on Thursday.
“I did see the running back from Boise State, he was at UCLA, the day that DK (Metcalf) and I worked out. He is a specimen,” Rodgers said.
“He is well put together. … I think he’s probably going to go top-10, and the eye test? He passes the eye test, for sure.”
Jeanty carried the ball 347 times for a remarkable 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns, meaning he averaged 7.0 years per carry.
He has rushed for over 800 yards in his three seasons with the Broncos, surpassing 1,300 yards in each of the last two.
Jeanty’s popularity comes amid the rise of running backs in the NFL.
Saquon Barkley has led that charge after his dominant debut season with the Philadelphia Eagles, which resulted in a Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
The 21-year-old Jeanty even compared himself to ‘Quadzilla’ in a recent letter in The Players’ Tribune.
And it’s why ESPN NFL Draft analyst Matt Miler exclusively told talkSPORT he expects Jeanty to be a top six pick.

“That’s great news for guys like Ashton Jeanty, who could come off the board as early as six now that the Raiders have Geno Smith,” Miller said.
“We saw last year the Raiders — and I know it was a different regime — but they went best player available with Brock Bowers and he had a great rookie season, a record setting rookie season.
“Well, I think we could see something similar with Ashton Jeanty if he’s on the board.”
The 2025 NFL Draft gets underway on Thursday, 24 April in Green Bay.
