Aston Villa vs Celtic prediction
This will be a very interesting tie as Villa are somewhat struggling in the Premier League but going well in the UCL.
Villa sit ninth in the table just out of the top eight for entry into the knockouts, by goal difference.
A win would put them in a great spot to get into the knockouts and avoid a play-off clash.
But they need Atletico, Milan, Atalanta or Leverkusen to drop points, or at least Leverkusen not to match their winning goal difference over Celtic.
But first they have to win, which does seem possible but Celtic are on a great run of form not only in the Scottish Premiership but also in the Champions League, with a run of five from their seven games played.
However, that loss was a hefty 7-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in October in Germany.
Celtic top the Scottish Premiership and after 23 games played they’ve only lost once.
So though Aston Villa are the strong favourites to win this clash, they could find it tough.
Aston Villa vs Celtic betting tip
Villa drew 1-1 to West Ham on Sunday and need a quick turnaround to face Celtic.
They’ve gone on a decent run in the Premier League, going five unbeaten with two wins and three draws.
Villa are strong enough to win but quite a lot of the time have failed to deliver a winning blow.
The odds certainly speak to a draw with betting on Villa not really paying enough considering what the Champions League is like.
Villa have been able to beat the likes of Man City and drawing well against teams like Arsenal.
Yet they can on occasion struggle against teams fighting for relegation; only winning 1-0 over Southampton and Everton for example.
Villa lost 1-0 against Monaco last week and a draw would be enough to see them into the next round.
