AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2025 golf betting preview

On the PGA Tour in 2025 we’ve had winners from Japan, Canada and Austria.

And last week the winner was English… although, of course, that was American Harris English.

An actual Englishman did win this event two years when Justin Rose took victory but since England won the World Cup in 1966, just four non-Americans have triumphed in this iconic tournament held on America’s west coast.

Pebble Beach is the place where Jack Nicklaus would head to if he was given one last round to play and this beautiful property on the Monterey Peninsula will again look superb on our TV screens.

A short par 72 measuring under 7,000 yards, Pebble Beach stages three of the four rounds while Spyglass Hill, which has fewer holes that run along the Pacific Ocean, hosts the other.

This is one of the PGA Tour’s eight Signature Events and that means a field of just 80 and no cut.

Amateurs that UK viewers have mostly never heard of feature over the first two rounds but thankfully they step aside for the final 36 holes.

Justin Thomas can claim overdue win

History says it’s smart to pick an American to win and, usually, that would be Scottie Scheffler.

However, the World No.1 is making his first appearance since suffering a freak hand injury while making Christmas dinner – he needed surgery – so it makes sense to look to one of his elite compatriots.

There are a trio of strong candidates near the front of the betting: Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay.

I’ll side with Thomas at 14s after his two near misses in recent times.

The Ryder Cup star was runner-up in October’s ZOZO Championship in Japan and again took second place in The American Express earlier this month.

The two-time major champion has made the top half-dozen in four of his last five starts in California and that includes sixth here last year.

He’s a great fit for Pebble so back him at 14/1 with Paddy Power, who pay seven each-way places.

🏌️‍♂️ Back Justin Thomas at 14/1 with Paddy Power, who pay seven each-way places ⛳

Taylor Pendrith to beat Corey Conners

Last week’s 72-hole match bet proved stress-free as 4/5 pick Taylor Pendrith finished seventh while his opponent Si Woo Kim missed the cut.

I’m going to play the big-hitting Canadian again this week, taking him at 5/6 with bet365 to beat countryman Corey Conners.

Pendrith has been on a roll for some time now and his seventh at Torrey Pines last week represented a sixth top 20 in his latest seven worldwide starts.

In addition, he was seventh at Pebble Beach last year, his third straight top 10 in California.

Conners, by contrast, has never made the top 30 in three starts at Pebble, missed the cut at the Sony Open last time out and usually struggles in California.

🏌️‍♂️ Back Taylor Pendrith to beat Corey Conners at 4/5 with Betfair ⛳

Eric Cole for Top 20

Eric Cole has played this event twice, posting 15th on debut in 2023 and 14th last year.

As for current form, he’s finished 16th or better in four of his last eight starts.

Put those stats together and he looks a good wager at 7/2 with betMGM to finish in the top 20.

🏌️‍♂️ Take Eric Cole for Top 20 at 7/2 with BetMGM ⛳
