Uganda 102 all out
Rwanda 56 all out
Uganda won by 46 runs
Baby Victoria Pearls had already secured a semifinal place but in their final group game against the hosts Rwanda, top spot was what both sides were chasing.
Rwanda won the toss and elected to field. Uganda lost their captain Jimia Mohammad for nothing but Patricia Timong (14) and Akurut Asumin (15) steadied the ship.
Malisa Ariokot (33) was the top scorer for Uganda with some help from Naume Amongin (15) down the order to help their team finish on 102 all out, with some needless wickets lost at the back end by Uganda.
In the run chase, the hosts panicked and gifted Uganda two wickets via run-out which left them railing at 5/3.
Uganda continued to be relentless in the attack, and the slow-medium-pace bowling options of Akurut Asumin (2/9), Patricia Timong (2/11) and Patricia Apolot (2/6) closed out the game.
Uganda won by 46 runs, a result that secured them top spot in Group A.
Uganda got some revenge for their semifinal loss two years ago in Botswana and set up a semifinal clash with Zimbabwe.
Rwanda who finished second in the group will face off with Nigeria.
