Ben Shalom admits that an ‘admin error’ caused Ben Whittaker and Liam Cameron to receive different contracts.
This comes one week after Cameron told talkSPORT that Whittaker’s promotional outfit, BOXXER, was trying to reduce the number of rounds for their rematch on April 20 to 10 despite him already signing to compete in 12.

It was later disclosed that both men had signed different contracts: Whittaker for a 10-round fight and Cameron for a 12-rounder.
Shalom admits the mistake was a costly one, with BOXXER having to fork out a considerable sum as compensation to smooth over the deal.
But there is still haggling being done at the negotiation table.
“It’s a 10-round fight,” Shalom told talkSPORT’s White and Jordan on Thursday lunchtime.
“In the first instance, there was an admin error in the office with the paperwork.
“I think it was a couple of days when it was noticed and and to be honest, as sensible partners, I thought it’d be all worked out quickly, and it seemed like it was getting worked out.
“They wanted extra money and compensation, and we agreed to that, and we felt like we moved on from that.
“Since Liam’s interview [with talkSPORT], I’ve spoken to George Warren, and George had agreed on the terms to get it done.
“They’re agreeing on something, and then looking to draw it out as long as possible.
“And that’s what’s happened now a couple of times. They want to play games. They want to mess around.

“I think Liam is being told ultimately what to say. But it is a 10-round fight, and I agreed that in writing last week.
“We actually were demanded to make a ridiculous request, to make a payment into the Board and lodge the payment.
“We had a deadline of last week, we did that. And so at the end of the day, it’s a 10-round fight…
“Ultimately, our mistake is an expensive mistake that has cost me money.
“I’m holding my hands up to that, it’s nothing to do with Ben Whittaker. But it has been dealt with.”
Whittaker and Cameron’s inaugural encounter ended in controversial circumstances last October.

In the dying embers of the fifth round, both men flipped over the top rope, causing Whittaker to sustain injuries that left him unable to continue.
As four rounds had been completed, the fight went to the scorecards, with the three ringside judges declaring it a split draw.
Cameron was on the ascendancy when the fight was waved off and accused Whittaker of looking for a way out of their fight.
Now, they will get the opportunity to finally settle their score once and for all on Easter Sunday at the BP Pulse Live Arena in Birmingham.
