Jordan Battle is going to want to have this one back.

The Cincinnati Bengals safety did the ultimate ‘no-no.’

In a game between the Bengals and Tennessee Titans, both teams combined for ten turnovers, the most in a game since 2007, but one stood out amongst the rest.

Battle scooped up a fumble and raced towards the endzone, with nothing but green grass ahead of him.

He was going to coast in and score Cincinnati’s second defensive score on the game.

That was until he dropped the ball at the one-yard-line, fumbling the ball through the back of the end zone, resulting in a touchback.

Players are taught to make sure they securely cross the goal line with the ball in their possession.

Battle did not get that memo.

Fortunately for him, his gaffe ultimately didn’t cost his team.

The Bengals escaped Tennessee with a victory and now sit at 6-8.

It has been a trying year for Joe Burrow and Cincinnati.

Coming into the season, they had Super Bowl aspirations and expectations.

Fast forward to the middle of December, they now have less than a 10% chance to make the playoffs.

A lot of Cincinnati’s failures can be put on the defense, which ranks near the bottom in most categories.

Compare that to Burrow and the offense, who have been one of the best in the league.

The Bengals franchise quarterback is playing at an MVP-level, and would be in those discussions to win the award, if his team had a winning record.

The Bengals have three games remaining and will need to win out to give themselves a fighting chance to make the postseason.

They host Cleveland and then Denver, before finishing the year at Pittsburgh.
