Gang Green has found its quarterback.
Justin Fields is a New York Jet.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport broke the news on Monday afternoon.
‘The Jets are signing QB Justin Fields, per me and Tom Pelissero as Gang Green gets a new starter,’ Rapoport posted on X.
‘Fields says goodbye to Pittsburgh after 1 year. He gets a 2-year deal worth $40M with $30M guaranteed in a deal done by David Mulugheta of Athletes First.’
Fields now becomes New York’s QB1 and is reunited with his former WR1.
Fields and wide receiver Garrett Wilson played together at Ohio State, having great success and chemistry with one another.
The Jets will be hoping they can replicate their Columbus magic in NYC.
Fields and Wilson led a dynamic and explosive Buckeyes offense to a Big Ten title and College Football Playoff appearance.
Live on SportsCenter, ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky raved about the contract and opportunity that Fields now has in front of him.
“It’s a great opportunity for Justin Fields to go to a place and prove he can go get it done,” Orlovsky said.
“He’s been a good solid player and now gets to go to an organization that says, ‘Hey we want you to be our stating quarterback for a year or two and then if it works out, great, and if not, we’ll move.’

“But at least it’s an opportunity for Justin be the guy.”
Fellow ESPN colleague and Jets super fan, Mike Greenberg, posted on X to share his thoughts.
“This probably isn’t a home run, but there was no home run to be hit here,” Greenberg wrote. “Under the circumstances, this was the best outcome possible.
“Welcome to the Jets Justin Fields, we’re rooting for you like crazy.“
Fields replaces Aaron Rodgers after a disappointing two-year stint for the four-time league MVP.
It’s now Fields’ show to run, and he’ll have the help of an old friend to do it.
