Nikola Jokic is on a historic run.
The MVP favorite is averaging nearly 39 points in December thanks to sensational back-to-back performances over the weekend.

Jokic scored a career-high 56 points in a 122-113 defeat to the Washington Wizards on Saturday.
And he followed it up with 48 more as the Denver Nuggets destroyed the Atlanta Hawks 141-111 on Sunday.
Incredibly, Jokic racked up over a century of points in under 24 hours.
He added 30 rebounds and 16 assists across both games, earning him a spot in rare company.
The only other players to manage 45-plus points, 10-plus rebounds, and 5-plus assists in consecutive games are Wilt Chamberlain in 1963 and Elgin Baylor in 1961.
Jokic’s line of 48 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists, and three steals against the Hawks has only been managed five times in history, per Basketball Reference’s StatHead,
One was Jokic himself in 2022, two were from Russell Westbrook in 2015 and 2017, and the other was Larry Bird in 1992.
There were some bold takes flying around on social media.
“Jokic is the greatest centre of all time. I said it,” posted one fan.
“I’m tired of holding my tongue Nikola Jokic is better than Michael Jordan and it’s not close,” added another.

“Jokic is the best player on the planet, and the best center since the 1977 NBA-ABA merger,” a third wrote.
“He is Magic, Bird, and Kevin McHale in one body. There is not one player in league history that I would take over Jokic, and I am the biggest MJ fan of them all.
“Denver better get some more talent around him or they are going to waste his prime.”
Jokic is on course for a fourth MVP but only has one ring to show for it.
This season, Denver goes from the best statistical offense in the NBA with the 29-year-old on the court to one of the worst without him.
But Joker was extremely modest when asked about his incredible game.
“Just maybe being aggressive,” he said. “The ball is finding me, and the ball is going in most of the time. Just one of those nights.”
Long-serving coach Mike Malone was more expressive.
“I can’t say I’m surprised because I’ve been spoiled to have the best seat in the house to watch this guy for 10 years and to watch him do it night in and night out, the second night of a back-to-back,” he said.
“As much as we put on his shoulders, he never runs from it, he never complains, and I love his mental and physical toughness.”
There are promising signs for the 12-10 Nuggets with third-year guard Christian Braun stepping up in a complementary role.
Batman has Robin, it is time the Joker found his support act.
