Bill Belichick is enjoying himself in multiple TV roles to start the NFL season.

But the competitive fire remains in tact as he appeared to take some joy in throwing shade in the direction of Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank during his latest ManningCast appearance.

The 72-year-old who was only interviewed by Atlanta after ending his 24-season spell with the New England Patriots that featured six Super Bowl wins, was overlooked in favor of Raheem Morris – who got his first win on Monday night over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Belichick, is making regular media appearances during the NFL season.

He will feature on ESPN’s ManingCast this season along while regular appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Inside the NFL and podcast ventures with The 33rd Team and Underdog after failing to land a gig are keeping him busy

And fans think he used his latest appearance to settle old scores during the Falcons’ 22-21 triumph on Monday Night Football.

After the Falcons defense missed tackles on a Jalen Hurts scramble in the second quarter of the battle of the birds, Belichick sharped his knives.

“Good run, can’t tackle, can’t tackle him,” he said to Peyton and Eli Manning.

“Bill … how does that happen?” Peyton asked.

“I mean, honestly it was the same issue last week, they didn’t tackle very well against Pittsburgh,” Belichick responded.

Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney’s name came up later and Belichick was ready to swoop.

“One of those three free agents they signed illegally,” he said.

“That they contacted early, got fined for it, lost a draft choice and all that.”

The Falcons forfeited a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and were fined $250,000 after being punished for “improper contact” over their approaches to quarterback Kirk Cousins, tight end Charlie Woerner, and Mooney.

Belichick’s New England Patriots famously secured the largest comeback in Super Bowl history as they rallied from 28-3 down to beat the Falcons 34-28 in 2017.

And Bill saved the best for last as he fired a parting shot at Blank.

“I remember, [Arthur] Blank down on the sideline in the fourth quarter, celebrating when they were ahead,” he said.

“He’s a pretty good dresser. Arthur always looks sharp, but he was down there on the sideline, and we were getting beat, and I was like, Jesus.”

Fans were enjoying Belichick’s comments on social media as they followed the game.

“So petty from Bill, I love it lmao,” posted one.

“Bill Belichick could not wait to talk about Darnell Mooney just to dump on the Falcons and their GM that got the job over him. Emphasized the hell out of that “illegally” and had every penalty they were hit with for tampering ready to rip,” added another.

Belichick famously did not get on with the media during his long tenure with the Patriots, but has embraced his former foes with a series of TV gigs lined up.

ESPN reported last week that the veteran is desperate to return to the sidelines next season.
