The 2024-2025 FUFA Big League continued with match day 8 on Sunday, 24th November 2024 at the various venues across the country.
There were home victories for Blacks Power, Gaddafi, Arua Hill and Kataka on the day.
Blacks Power ascended to the summit of the table standings with a 2-1 victory over Calvary at the Akii Bua memorial stadium, Lira.
Haron Odongo and Innocent Maduka scored for the home side in either half.
Blacks Power attained their 5th victory in 7 matches and has now fetched 16 points, one adrift from the second placed Gaddafi, who has the same number of points as Booma.
Gaddafi Football Club required a hard-fought 2-1 win against visiting MYDA at the Works playground in Entebbe Municipality.
MYDA took the early lead through Moses Ocoman, a deaf player in the 9th minute.
The lead was short lived as Yasin Mugume quickly found the equalizer.
Congolese national Jonathan Mbula gave Gaddafi the lead heading to the mandatory half time recess that they held onto for the maximum points before their home fans.
MYDA remains winless in all the 7 matches played thus far.
Elsewhere, Kataka overcame Kiyinda Boys 1-0 at the Mbale Municipal stadium.
At the Pece stadium in Gulu city, Arua Hill smiled past Paidha Black Angels 2-1 for their second victory of the season.
Dickens Kilama and Paul Ssekulima scored for Arua Hill.
At the Kyabazinga stadium, Bugembe in Jinja city, Busoga United and Buhimba United Saints shared the spoils in a goal-less stalemate.
Match day 9 will commence on Thursday, 29th November 2024 and climax on Sunday, 1st December 2024.
Three clubs will be promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at the end of the season.
