Bologna vs AC Milan predictions
Bologna finished fifth in Serie A last season, claiming the additional Champions League spot handed out to Serie A thanks to the expansion of the tournament.
Last season’s success resulted in Rossoblù losing their head coach, Thiago Motta to Juventus. Into his place stepped Vincenzo Italiano, and it’s fair to say that things haven’t gone great for the former Fiorentina boss.
Bologna sit 12th in Serie A with nine points from eight matches. But worse still, they have only won one league game this season.
Turning draws into wins is the biggest problem. In defence of Italiano, Bologna has only lost once. But when you add three winless Champions League results to one Serie A win, it’s easy to see why the new manager is already under pressure.
In their most recent Serie A fixture, Bologna drew 2-2 away to Genoa last Saturday. It might sound like a good result on paper. But they were 2-0 up with less than 20 minutes left to play.
The Rossoblù followed that up with a 2-0 defeat away to Aston Villa in the Champions League. The stats suggest Italiano’s team had a go. But the facts are Bologna never really looked like getting anything out of the match.
AC Milan has also had an inconsistent start to the season.
The Rossoneri sit fourth in Serie A with 14 points from eight matches. Milan has won four, drawn two, and lost two.
Milan’s main struggles have come on the road. At home they’ve won three of their four domestic league fixtures. Only Torino prevented Paulo Fonseca’s side from winning all four. They held the Rossoneri to a 2-2 draw on the opening weekend of the season.
But, Milan has won their last two matches and things are starting to look better for Fonseca’s team.
On Saturday they defeated Udinese 1-0 at home in Serie A. They followed that up with a 3-1 Champions League victory over Club Brugge on Tuesday.
The win over Brugge was much needed after Milan lost their first two UCL matches at home to Liverpool (3-1) and away to Leverkusen (1-0).
In team news, Bologna are still hampered by injuries with Nicolo Cambiaghi, Oussama El Azzouzi, Martin Erlic and Lewis Ferguson all missing.
Milan are without Theo Hernandez and Tijjani Reijnders. Both are suspended.
Long term absentees Ismael Bennacer and Alessandro Florenzi are still out. But Tammy Abraham and Davide Calabria are both available again.

Bologna vs Milan betting tips
Bologna are struggling. Last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Genoa will feel like a defeat. And the performance at Villa Park will have done little to improve confidence.
Milan looks to be steadily improving. Their back-to-back wins will give them confidence, and we think they are a good bet to claim their second away win of the season and heap more pressure on struggling Bologna boss Vincenzo Italiano. Our match betting tips are below:
Milan to win
Milan have lost two, drawn one and won one on the road in Serie A this season.
The defeats came at Parma (2-1) and Fiorentina (2-1).
A hard earned point was won away at Lazio on gameweek 3 with a 2-2 draw, with Milan’s only away win secured in their home stadium, when they beat Inter in the Derby as the away team.
You may be thinking this isn’t selling the away win to me, but there are a couple of things to take into consideration.
First; Milan is improving. Their 2-1 defeat at Fiorentina may have been a torturous watch for their fans, but it was a sign the Rossoneri is heading in the right direction.

They enjoyed 61% possession with 16 shots on goal, eight were on target. Milan were the better side, but lacked that killer instinct, and it was this that cost them the victory. On another day Milan wins that fixture comfortably.
Since that performance, Milan have won their next two. So they will be more confident when they take on Bologna.
Second; We’ve already covered it. Bologna has been woeful this season. They look prime for the taking against an improving Milan.
Back AC Milan to win at 21/20 with Midnite
Both teams to score
Both teams have scored in six of Bologna’s eleven matches in all competitions this season.
Scoreless away losses at Liverpool and Aston Villa in the Champions League have to be taken into consideration, and Bologna didn’t find the net when they were well beaten at league leaders Napoli earlier in the season.
In Serie A, Bologna has scored in six of their eight matches. At home they have found the net in three of their four fixtures.
Milan has conceded in all four of their Serie A matches on the road. In all competitions, Milan has conceded in eight of their eleven fixtures. Both teams have scored in seven of their eleven matches.
Milan looks to have goals in them and they can’t keep clean sheets on the road.
Back both teams to score at 13/20 with Midnite
Christian Pulisic to score any time
Former Dortmund and Chelsea wide man Christian Pulisic has been in good form this season. The American international has five goals and three assists in Serie A, and he has also contributed two goals in three Champions League appearances.
Pulisic was on target in the Champions League against Brugge on Tuesday. He also registered an assist in the 1-0 win over Udinese and scored Milan’s goal in their previous match against Fiorentina.
Pulisic is scoring goals and influencing matches. He looks a good bet to find the net again on Saturday at 11/5.
